Summary/Artist Statement:

All of my work is completed on a lathe. That includes bowls, vases, plates, boxes, bangles, etc. Many of the pieces have functional value, e.g. salad bowls, others are created primarily for their aesthetic value. I often add texture and color to the turnings to enhance the piece. I have also begun piercing and carving turnings as a means of extending the character of the piece. The wood for most of the turnings is native to western New York. Most of the bangles are made from imported woods. Examples of my work can be found at my website: http://www.daviddaywoodart.com.
