Laura Glass Art Quilts
Summary/Artist Statement:I love taking an ordinary event and telling it's story through an unconventional medium like textiles. It showcases the relationships and story behind the moment.
The technique I use most often is raw edge appliqué, which I feel adds dimension, texture and a contemporary feel to each piece. In addition I use free motion thread stitching and watercolor pencils to to add details and make each piece one of a kind.
My quilts have been featured in the summer 2014 issue of Art Quilting Studio magazine and the book "The Complete Guide to Machine Quilting" by J. Poole, St. Martins Press
