Summary/Artist Statement:

My work is intended as a visual call to be awake, to be aware always, to consider the possibilities wherever we are, and therefore to be fully alive.

For me, the starting point is always the natural world: in trying to see my surroundings I find, with luck and diligence, a richness in the mundane that encourages deeper examination of our whole situation, a richness completely missed by casual appearances and quick glances. Because an important component of the work is patina, or areas of marks that read as one, I am currently trying to visually mine my surroundings for just such references.
