Dana Fox Jenkins

Medium(s): Painting

Summary/Artist Statement:

I am energized by vibrant color, strong value contrasts and obvious line - with all of it used in the context of a narrative. Each painting, normally from a series that can span months or years of work and over 100 paintings, explores an aspect of a pervasive theme. Within that theme, I may paint from vintage photographs, architecture and nature en plein aire or from assembled artifacts. Watercolor has magical properties and I try to let the pigments and the water evolve into spontaneous expressions that approximate my thoughts.
