One day I woke up and said, "Is this it? Is this all there is to life?" Waking up, getting my son up, making his kindergarten lunch, take the dog out, "go to work" to my professional marketing communication job working from home fulltime! After putting in my 8 hours(more like 9, 10 or 11), I leave the "work office" and move on to the kitchen to my part-time job as mother/maid/cook etc. To relieve stress I usually do some yoga and watch TV with popcorn and chips in hand. I decided one night to get up off the couch (how many seasons of Survivor and American Idol can we take) give up my popcorn and potato chips and do something different.

I've been designing and creating jewelry for the past several years to relieve stress (yoga alone wasn't cutting it.) I decided to market something of my own for a change. So now, most evenings and weekends find me making and marketing HippyChickBeads. I design jewelry in my studio in Orchard Park, NY. Orchard Park is a suburb outside Buffalo, NY - where I grew up as a child. I have two children (5 and 18) both boys and a third child (45) my husband, along with a white schnoodle Brutus.

I create beautiful jewelry - necklaces, pendants, earrings and bracelets mostly. I am inspired by a lot of different things including what I see on TV, magazines, outside, on vacation, at the dentist . . you get the picture. I work in semi-precious stones, and have developed what I think is a niche look now; I also recently started metal bending with sterling silver metal as well. I do not weld or solder or blow glass, but I do tumble. And I love turquoise and quartz so you'll see a lot of that in my work. I am becoming more "green" and earthy by reusing: like reclamation glass and beads - such as Lake Erie sea glass. I've also brought sea glass from the shores of Mexico - now if I could just learn to drill it. I also use recycled gift boxes and bags at my shows.

My work is original hand-made pieces of art.
