Summary/Artist Statement:

Introduced to art as a child in western New York during the mid-20th century, a world of Picasso, abstract expressionism and pop, my first art museum experience was a Van Gogh exhibition at Albright Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo. Life in Manhattan during the 1980s inspired my style that has evolved as an exploration of mythology, nature, music, literature, and pop culture--a process of pushing paint around a found image is a bit like clearing a path toward some unknown meaning or question as the phenomenal world of nature, language, object, image, word and place is mediated through the senses.
